Green guidance handbook and toolbox released
We are delighted to announce the publication of two major outputs from the Exploring Green Guidance project: the Green Guidance Handbook and the Green Guidance Toolbox. Both resources are now freely available to careers practitioners, educators, and anyone interested in integrating sustainability into career development.
The Handbook brings together the work of practitioners and researchers from five European countries. It introduces why green guidance matters in today’s world, explores different ways to approach it, and offers practical suggestions for working ethically and responsively with young people, adults, and career changers. It also highlights tools, further readings, and critical perspectives that can help shape a confident, reflective, and climate-aware practice.
Complementing the Handbook, the Green Guidance Toolbox offers a set of ready-to-use methods for integrating environmental and social sustainability into guidance work. These activities and resources go beyond “green jobs,” supporting people to reflect on how career choices contribute to ecological and societal wellbeing, and helping practitioners to imagine futures that are meaningful, responsible, and transformative. The toolbox brings together methods for individual and group work, as well as approaches linked to advocacy, brokerage, and wider systems change.
We are proud to share this milestone, and we invite you to explore these resources, test them in your own context, and join us on the journey towards greener, fairer and more sustainable forms of career guidance.
